When the ice rink at Ustedalsfjorden is open, please contact the reception for more information about equipment rental.
SkateGeilo is created under the auspices of Vestlia Resort with the aim of giving more to our guests and to local people. The Ustedalsfjord, northwest of Vestlia, shows its best winter side - 20 cm thick ice (applies to marked rinks), suitable for all kinds of skating. We plow a 2 km long marked rink with a width of 10 m.
In addition, there is an ice hockey / figure skating / ice skating rink at Badestranden on the north side of the fjord. The rink can be reached from Vestlia by following the marking tape in a northwesterly direction towards the fjord. Marked from the reception.
SKATING ACTIVITIES:
All types of skates are suitable. Use poles for better stability. Helmet prevents. Dress well!
Bring a stick and puck/ball for playing along the rink. Kicks are suitable - use stingers. If you walk, studs/spikes are highly recommended. Ice skating is a growing activity - our ice rink is perfect!
RENTAL:
World champion Håvard Bøkko is responsible for the rental of folding skates from Zandstra; skates with cross-country binding NNN and NNN BC - so use your own ski boots!
