Skarverennet is one of the world's largest ski races and will be held April 19-21, 2024. The course runs along Hallingskarvet from Finse to Ustaoset and was first organized in 1974.

Ski

Discover the joy of skiing at Geilo Ski Resort, a paradise for both beginners and experienced alpinists. With ski slopes on both sides of the valley and a ski pass that provides access to all lifts, Vestlia Skisenter is the perfect starting point for your skiing experience. The ski bus makes it easy to explore the varied trails, and with the ski season running from mid-November to the end of April, it's always a good time to ski in Geilo.

Geilo and Hol Municipality are also known for their cross-country skiing trails, with over 500 kilometers of groomed trails in both the valleys and on the mountain plateaus. The cross-country skiing season starts in October/November and runs until May, and for the most avid skiers, cross-country skiing in the higher mountain areas can be enjoyed until June.

Afterski

After a day full of skiing experiences in Geilo, you can experience the lively atmosphere of après-ski, starting from December 9. Every Saturday, and extra during the holidays, Havsdalskroa transforms into a vibrant meeting point for ski enthusiasts. Here you can share stories from the day's adventures, enjoy good music, and relax with friends and family.

The après-ski experience is seamless thanks to the convenient ski buses, which are completely free. Travel easily between the different valley sides in Geilo. This means you can enjoy the ski slopes to the fullest and then head straight to the après-ski, without worrying about transportation.

Great atmosphere, fantastic company, and the unique charm of Geilo blend together to create perfect winter evenings.
